  1. Balanced-Unbalanced-Connections.jpgthe boss requires a balanced input. Addtionaly since it has a built in mic the device uses a plug in detection. So the suitable wiring/ input signal/ plug is necessary.

You need a proper balanced signal for the boss input jack. If you put a non balanced (that means: not a second identical signal with inverted polarity) signal in this input, there is the possibility that the signal gets summed to zero by the boss.

or you have to make sure that your unbalanced signal is not connected to the hot and cold input pin of the boss input at the same time.

Anyone know about this HelicalHypercom voicechanger?  I haven't been able to dig up much info on it; but that price is right for sure!

At least this device is easy to repair because the whole electronics are pretty cheap: https://de.farnell.com/velleman-sa/mk171/voice-changer-kit/dp/2804269

(it is actually a 10 bucks diy set "velleman pmk171"). It will do fine for the Kylo voice that is pretty non demanding Lo-Fi and a spohisticated Multistomp setup would be a bit of an exaggeration but the fact that the seller will solder this board by hand contains the risk that some solder joints may be not as durable as industrially manufactured items.
