I'm a 30+ year law enforcement veteran, and for that I make no apologies.  I have in those 30+ years seen more than my share of tragedy, trauma, and life threatening situations.  I'm ready to retire, so that I can reclaim myself, and I worry about how much damage my career has actually done to my psychological well being.  Costuming, prop making, and lighsabering are my coping mechanisms to help me to wash away or minimalize the impacts of the last 30 years.  I hope that I will soon be able to reclaim myself.  Between my job, and my ex's infidelities, I got divorced in 2018, and thus my hiatus from SLD for awhile.  I remarried in 2021 to a girl I dated in 1996 before I met my ex-wife.   I am a lifelong Star Wars fan, and was 6 years old when "Star Wars" came out in 1977 (A New Hope).  Episode IV is still my favorite movie, because it was the first.  To show you where I'm at, my rankings are from first to last:  ANH, ESB, Rogue One, ROTS, TFA, ROTJ, TPM, AOTC, SOLO, TROS, TLJ.  I'm a huge fan of both Mandalorian, which is SWAF, and Ahsoka!  Man I love those series.  BOBF is ok. Andor is also OUTSTANDING, but I'm excited for Season 2, and hoping to see my pal K2SO again!

Now even with that being said, and for all the critique of the prequels, I understand what George Lucas was trying to do, and succeeded.  What Lucas had envisioned with Jar Jar, came to fruition in Rogue One, with the re-appearance of Grand Moff Tarkin and a young Princess Leia.  There were parts of the prequels which were awesome.  Darth Maul, Kamino, Jango Fett, etc.  There were always parts of even the original trilogy which didn't feel like they fit...like ewoks.  Would rather that battle had taken place on Kashyk. 

I became obsessed with the conflict in Kylo Ren, and the fact that he was Vader's grandson, made his conflict all the more intriguing.  what happened to little Ben?  What led him to this point?  How much ass did he kick with the Knights of Ren?  I'm so excited to learn more about Ben, as we were with finding out how Vader came to be.  I think they should have left his helmet on permanently; however, I guess Driver is too pretty to keep covered up.  I was nervous when Disney bought LFL, but after TFA and Rogue One, I thought LFL is in good hands....until TLJ   Note on the controversial TLJ/TROS:    Wished they would have left Kylo's costume alone, I think it was perfection in TFA.  The last 2 movies in the sequels were atrocious, and TLJ was practically unforgiveable.  As more time has passed, I wish we could go back in time, and just let JJ Abrams have the whole Sequel Trilogy, because RJ just came in to create chaos, and messed up JJ's original storyline set ups.  I think TLJ was so bad, that it hurt/impacted the success of SOLO, which wasn't a bad movie.  Solo was ok, but the fanbase was reeling so bad from TLJ, they just didn't show up to the box office.  Kathleen Kennedy should have been fired at this point, and RJ should never be allowed near anything Star Wars, ever again.  He ruined the Sequels, ignored the Knights of Ren, Destroyed Kylo Ren's Character, impuned Luke Skywalker...it was just ABSOLUTE GARBAGE.  TLJ SUCKED.  JJ tried to redeem some of the mess in TROS, but couldn't fix all the damage done by Johnson in one movie.  In the end, Rian made a mess of Star Wars.  With that being said, however;  then along comes Favreau/Filoni and The Mandalorian.  In my opinion, The Mandalorian has single handedly rescued Star Wars!  

I have a lot of posts in the Kylo Forum about my build, from my helmet, saber, and soft parts.  I hope that those items/threads/photos/videos help someone along the way.  Building these costumes is often a lonely, obsessive journey.  You have questions along the way that you need immediate answers to, but sometimes in your obsession at 3AM, not everyone else is awake to advise you.  I've been there and done that.  That is where the older threads can come in handy as a friendly reference, they're always there.  I now own Megtooth Sith Sabers, as a direct result of my Kylo Ren Saber build and Alaska Vader's influence.  I helped to usher in Neopixels and the Smoothswing Algorithm.  I was a beta tester for TeensySaberV3, Proffie 1.5, Proffie 2.2, and Proffie 3.9.  My youtube channel contains all aspects of my involvement/contributions in the custom lightsaber community!

I'm currently collecting components, very slowly......unfortunately for ESB Vader.  While I await ESB Vader parts, I have also built an ANH TK, and was approved in May 2023 as TK-74759!  I am working on The Mandalorian from Book of Boba Fett, as well as Shore Trooper Captain from Rogue One.  I'm busy building costumes, but Kylo Ren TFA will always be near and dear to me!  I hope all my links in the threads may help some other aspiring builder!

Trooping with 501st Legion Founder Albin Johnson, which he is in my Garrison, so that is easy!

The 501st Legion has taken me to some great places, and allowed me to experience some incredible things!  I'm very much looking forward to expanding my repetoire and capabilities!  I'm hoping to get a bit more active here in the Kylo forums helping out again.  I'm slowing down on sabers and accelerating on costuming again!!!!!!  MTFBWY....or the Dark Side as it were.  #nerdup
