  1. Here is one that is longer that shows bridging all the grounds on the back of the button boards, these were the original Adafruit Rigs, VERSION 1, but the VERSION 2 button boards were the same, except I painted them black as the years went by.  I actually engineered a PCB button board to avoid all this solder bridging on grounds that I would include in a DIY kit.

Mike mentions you often. Hope you and/or Cody can revive the product. It is widely used and liked by many in the 501st.

If I decide to release the improved designs, I'll do it myself so it can be more affordable, no more partners.  Cody was never involved until after I left, because my "partner" didn't have the skills to build the rigs. I might produce a DIY kit, and maybe offer assembled rigs on etsy when I can.  Mass producing rigs was too time consuming, but if I can get the design where it can be mass produced, then I might be able to find a way to make that happen.

I'm not happy about the way it all went amuck.  I think there is a better way to go moving forward, but it will take some time for me to re-tool, re-design an incorporated battery/recharge port, and a new 3D printed case to contain all of that.  This would remove one loose item (battery) and wire (battery to unit) on the rig to make it more compact.  I'm just happy to be able to talk about the units now, I may not have been the face or the namesake, but they most certainly were my hardware design.  I think I will find a way to incoporate the initial Adafruit sound boards, as well as the Teensy Sound boards for multiple characters.  The Teensy based boards, particularly during the pandemic had a lot of faults, and were way more expensive than the Adafruits were.  I think the Teensy boads on the Proffie OS were overkill for anything but Darth Vader, or people that wanted multiple characters on one rig.   The initial rigs were cheaper, and easier, and smaller.  I think that simplicity makes them more appealing.

  3. Sorry about the low quality, but the day got away from me yesterday, so I just went into the closet (so I wouldn't wake the baby) and did a few movie lines. I flubbed one of them, but I think you can get the general sound from the video.

I can't figure out how to embed this video, so I'll just leave the link up for now.

Hiding in the closet, talking Kylo Ren.  Yep, I've done that.  This whole thing is mental illness for real.
